Interview with our customer Lieve V. (HR Manager a.i. at Omega Pharma)
What does HR mean to you?
HR must always remain at the centre of business. I’ve been in this particular business for 23 years now and I have always tried to align the HR policies with the company’s culture and processes. HR as a business partner is taken for granted by most. Though, in practice I frequently notice a mismatch between the HR processes and other business processes. I try to remain in close contact with business management, to listen carefully, to understand them but mainly to communicate in order to reach a consensus on which measures will eventually be implemented.
When you left Ecov, you chose to be replaced by an HR Interim Manager. Why did you make that decision?
For 6 years, I happily worked at Ecov. When I made the decision to leave, I wanted to carefully select a successor. Originally, we started looking for a permanent employee. Ecov is a business that’s evolving. This means that they need someone who can maintain a complete overview but is still closely involved with the company. We were looking for a very specifi c kind of expertise. It soon became clear that fi nding a permanent employee would be no mean feat. I approached Robby in order to learn how HRbuilders could be of help to us.
What are HRbuilders’ strengths, according to you?
The way in which Robby understood our situation right away and was able to present three ideal candidates, almost instantly, was an enormous relief to me. I knew my leaving would not create too many issues. It was obvious that Robby knew our organisation well, just like his candidates.
