Konica Minolta Healtcare Europe: Double interview with our client (Patrick C. C.O.O) and HR Interim Manager (Marc V. HRM a.i.)
What challenges are you facing?
Patrick: As we are a small organization, we have to use our limited resources to the maximum. Unlike very large organizations, we have to be more creative and use our talented staff 100%. In our lean environment we cannot be content with average performance levels.
Marc: This Japanese company has a very international staff which means diversity in the offi ce and lots of cultural differences. And that makes HR there very interesting.
Which part of your working day do you like the most?
Patrick: You need customers and you serve customers. Being customer orientated is very important to me.
Marc: I truly love setting up HR policies and strategy, especially in different countries like the Netherlands, UK and France.
What are your thoughts on outsourcing?
Patrick: I want my people to focus on customers, so I don’t think we have to do everything ourselves. We focus on what adds value for our customers.
What added value did we bring you?
Patrick: Marc is the right guy for us! HRbuilders introduced us to a trustworthy and qualitative HR Manager very quickly, and they also provide follow up.
Marc: For me, the expertise and the network of the agency are the biggest advantages of working with them. You guys have in depth business knowledge of international Human Resources, and give me a sounding board.
What do you expect Human Resources to bring to your company?
Marc: HR should add value to the business: economies of scale, centralization, back-offi ce and clear structured processes help the business to reduce complexity. HR also helps with cultural diversity, training and expat management.
Patrick: I agree with the above, and I think all managers should incorporate the most important HR process: motivating and engaging. It all comes down to leadership.
