TheFutureOfHR: Part II

9 april 2018

The first week of Easter break is a fact! ... Time to enjoy the second one... ;). For this edition, we decided to continue on last week's #ConnectWithContent and picked some more of our favourite articles on #TheFutureOfHR.

1. Managing the Talent Pipeline: Reinvent, Redefine and Refresh

The familiar pattern of education, a job for life, followed by retirement, is dying. It is being replaced by a multi-stage life, enabled by technological developments, bringing opportunities & challenges for the nature of work, working patterns, career ambitions and motivations. The need to reinvent, redefine and refresh one’s skills and behaviours over time emphasizes the need for organizations to have clarity on the critical skills for the future, and how they will intertwine to deliver business objectives.

2. How to become a progressive HR leader? Breakfast session & HRdinner with Lisbeth Claus

In this articles we write about when #HRbuilders welcomed Professor Lisbeth Claus at our Headquarters in Ghent. As a personal friend of Captain Katrien Devos, Lisbeth suggested to host a breakfast session and an exclusive HRdinner for our HR Community to share with us her expertise in Global and progressive HR.

3. People want direction, not directions

When the going gets tough, leaders default to micro management. Katleen De Stobbeleir, professor in Leadership & Partner at Vlerick, pointed it out earlier this week at the Award show Best Workplaces 2017 in Brussels. Especially in turbulent times, in come the “Swoop-in and save the day” leaders, not taking into account that rescuing is not the same as leading.

Enjoy the rest of the holidays and feel free to share your thoughts!
